Dane Prieston, JD

Executive Director

Dane Prieston serves as the Executive Director of the Kentucky Association of Recovery Residences (KYARR), where he works to support and strengthen recovery housing across the state. With experience as a former recovery residence operator and a background in policy and program administration, he understands both the challenges and opportunities that come with operating quality recovery housing. Before joining KYARR, he worked with the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services, helping to align recovery residences with NARR standards and providing technical assistance to operators. As a person in long-term recovery himself, Dane is committed to fostering safe and supportive environments for individuals on their recovery journey. He is a graduate of the University of San Diego and the Golden Gate University School of Law. 

Bethany Kaestner

Certification & Outcomes Manager

Bethany Kaestner is a compassionate and driven leader in the field of
substance use recovery and peer support. With a career rooted in her
personal, lived experience and a deep commitment to community-based care,
she has served in diverse roles ranging from Recovery Support Technician to
Housing Director. Bethany holds an Associate of Science in Community Health
Services from Sullivan University and is a Certified Adult Peer Support
Specialist. Most recently, Bethany served as Housing Director, where she
successfully launched multiple recovery residences and led teams with a
focus on regulatory compliance, budgeting, and individualized client
support. Her previous work includes developing supportive housing for
pregnant and parenting women and coaching individuals to overcome
employment and life barriers. Bethany is known for her dependable work
ethic, honest communication, and ability to lead with curiosity. Bethany
brings a unique blend of administrative acumen, interpersonal strength, and
unwavering empathy to her position.

In every role, Bethany leads by example, encourages transformation, and
promotes recovery environments that are trauma-informed, client-centered,
and grounded in dignity and integrity. She continues to dedicate her life’s
work to improving outcomes for individuals in recovery by creating pathways
toward stability and independence.
